Neonatology Clinical Educator- Level III NICU

Baystate Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system in western Massachusetts which consists of an academic medical center, Children’s Hospital, three community hospitals and the region’s largest multispecialty group. Our flagship hospital, Baystate Medical Center, is home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Baystate.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Join our team of 7 neonatologists, 1 hospitalist, residents and 10 neonatal APPs in our level III NICU. This is the only level II NICU in western MA and is comprised of 33 acute care beds and 22 beds in the step-down unit.
- Baystate Children’s Hospital has 107 beds and offers a broad range of pediatric subspecialties including surgery, anesthesia, infectious disease, genetics, cardiology, endocrinology, palliative care, GI, neurology, and ophthalmology for ROP screening and treatment.
- Combination of clinical care and resident and medical student teaching with faculty appointment to UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate.
- Our hospital handles over 4,000 deliveries annually with 65+ admissions monthly. We offer all modes of mechanical ventilation, including bubble CPAP, NIMV, conventional ventilation, and high-frequency ventilation (HFOV and Jet) as well as iNO. We offer total body hypothermia for infants with suspected encephalopathy.
- Cultivate and facilitate innovative clinical and QI research. NeoQIC, a Massachusetts statewide quality improvement collaborative, provides regional support for clinical improvement multi-center initiatives. Active areas of research: neonatal nutrition, prevention of respiratory morbidities, and improving neurological outcomes as well as many QI projects. One of our faculty is the Director of the active global health program.
- Qualifications: ABMS BE or BC Neonatology.
