The Department of Neurology at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University is recruiting academic headache specialists in clinical educator and physician-scientist tracks. The position will be under the department of neurology, but non-neurologist headache specialists are welcome to apply. The Department of Neurology at Jefferson, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country, currently has over 80 full time faculty. Our institution, established in 1997 by Drs. Stephen Silberstein and William Young, is one of the largest, most productive and innovative headache centers in the world. Our team provides excellent clinical care, with specialty centers developed to treat intracranial hypotension, intracranial hypertension, cluster and vestibular migraine. We offer infusion therapies and operate the largest academic inpatient program in the US at Methodist hospital in south Philadelphia. We encourage research and basic science by conducting clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies, working with students, neurology residents, fellows and colleagues. Prospective applicants are encouraged to develop their own clinical or research programs tailored to their interests, and we frequently collaborate with other departments such as neurosurgery, neuroradiology, and neuro-ophthalmology. We currently see patients in historic center city Philadelphia and with telemedicine. We plan to develop clinics outside the city as satellite centers for those faculty who would be willing to do so.
