Location: Annapolis Junction & Hawaii (PA2 Only)

Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph

Protocol Analyst 3

Salary: $160,000 - $178,800

The Protocol Analyst works directly with signals analysis, preferably related to
communications signals (e.g., bitstream analysis, waveform analysis, protocol
analysis), network troubleshooting, network traffic characterization, and/or network
security analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience, bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or doctoral degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • HS diploma or GED with 15 years of experience will be considered for those who have completed one of the following military training courses: 451 (Intermediate Signals Analysis) or 452 (Advanced Signals Analysis) or who have participated in or graduated from the Military COMINT Signals Analysis Program (MCSAP)
  • Bachelor'sDegree must be in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, a Physical Science, or related technical field
  • Relevant experience must be in signals analysis, including protocol analysis, and preferably related to communication signals, network troubleshooting, network traffic characterization, and/or network security analysis
  • 450 / 451/ 452 Grads
  • Tools: DVT, WVT, PKTSWING
  • Ability to dig into massive sets of hexdump and pick out repeatable sets of data that could be forms of communication hiding in the signal.


Protocol Analyst 4

Salary: $212,000 - $236,500

The Protocol Analyst works directly with signals analysis, preferably related to
communications signals (e.g., bitstream analysis, waveform analysis, protocol
analysis), network troubleshooting, network traffic characterization, and/or network
security analysis.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree and 11 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree plus 9 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree and 7 years of relevant experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 15 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 13 years of relevant experience will be considered for those who have completed one of the following military training courses: 451 (Intermediate Signals Analysis) or 452 (Advanced Signals Analysis) or who have participated in or graduated from the Military COMINT Signals Analysis Program (MCSAP).
  • Degree must be in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, a Physical Science, or a related technical field
  • We're looking for a Protocol Analyst with experience as a 450/451/452 graduate, proficient in tools like DVT, WVT, and PKTSWING. Your role will involve digging into massive hexdump datasets to identify potential communication patterns, and writing or modifying software tools to automate data extraction from signals of interest. You'll also collaborate with SMEs and tool designers to develop new capabilities for processing protocols.
