Summary The VP of Human Resources provides executive level leadership and guidance to the organization for the overall strategy and administration of human resources, including but not limited to state and federal policy compliance, benefit management, compensation structure management, employee relations, training and development, leaves of absences, labor relations, health & wellness programs, employee engagement and employee equity programs. The VP is responsible for setting, enforcing and evaluating legally compliant HR policies, procedures and best practices and identifying and implementing long-term strategic goals.

Compensation This role pays between $133,930 to $184,154 annualized. NOTE: Wages will be determined based on factors such as candidate experience, qualifications, skill set and internal equity.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborates with departments and leadership to define the organization's long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organizations goals
- Work with leadership to drive organizational change and culture transformation
- Compensation and Benefits:
- Manage the compensation structure and ensure the organization maintains internal equity and competitiveness in the market.
- Reviews all compensation offers, merits and changes to ensure there is internal and external equities.
- 401k plan management, including but not limited to audits, annual notices and reporting requirements.
- Annual Benefit Review, work with broker to review costs and plans, making suggested changes in-line with company goals and strategies
- Annual review, revise and distribute(as applicable) - Summary Plan Description
- Manage the NHL Medical, Pension and COBRA plans with associated broker and league
- Oversight of the Workers Compensation process for all injuries/illnesses
- Annual OSHA Reporting
- Manage Hockey Operations contracts, ensuring contract numbers are updated in the HRIS system and be a checks and balance for payroll.
- Employee Relations
- Provides guidance and leadership to the Human Resources team and assists with resolution of questions, concerns and issues.
- Address complex employee relation issues and ensure fair treatment of all employees
- Promote positive workplace culture through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Works with legal counsel on all claims such as, EEOC, DOL and NLRB charges.
- Talent Acquisition:
- Oversight of talent management and recruitment strategies.
- Implement innovative talent acquisition strategies and employer branding initiatives
- Employee Development
- Performance Management - annual review process aligning team activities with organizational goals
- Creates and implements professional development opportunities across the organization.
- Diversity Equity & Inclusion
- Champion diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organization
- Establish metrics to measure effectiveness of DEI programs
- Employee Engagement
- Manage the budget for employee activities such as holidays, happy hours, employee apparel, monthly employee lunches, birthday celebrations and more...
- Create and implement employee engagement activities to bring staff together and drive a fun, positive culture.
- Manager internal communications to staff with oversight of the weekly newsletter.
- HR Operations
- Drafts, maintains and manages Human Resources budget and provides recommendations for other departments based on employee engagement and training and development needs.
- Ensure compliance with record retention, annual notices and
- Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law and human resources.
- Develops and maintains employee handbook
- Drives a positive, inclusive culture holding the values and mission of the organization in the forefront.
- Utilize HR technology and data analytics to improve decision making and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree Human Resources or related field - MBA preferred
- HR Certification such as SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in human resources, compensation & benefits
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations.
- Experience with UKG preferred
- Experience with Workers Compensation management
- Managerial experience including training, employee development, and team leadership
