We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Geologist or Hydrogeologist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is a full-time position located in our Parsippany, NJ, Princeton, NJ or Holicong, PA office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
  • Direct project teams engaged in hydrogeologic analyses for environmental projects.
  • Conduct management oversight of staff engaged in drilling and data collection activities.
  • Oversee, conduct and analyze aquifer tests including predictive surface and groundwater modeling, and other hydrologic analyses.
  • Work with project teams to conceptualize, build, calibrate, and execute a variety of groundwater flow models using industry accepted software (Visual MODFLOW, GMS, Groundwater Vistas)
  • Conduct contaminant transport modeling using MT3D, RT3D, PHT3D
  • Oversee routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using industry standard procedures.
  • Assist in identifying technical issues and problem-solving approaches for hydrogeological site characterization.
  • Review regulations as appropriate and manage permitting with state and federal agencies and applicable technical programs.
  • Oversee preparation of reports including data visualization such as potentiometric surface maps, geologic and hydrogeological cross-sections, hydrogeologic model simulations, and maps.
  • Perform historical site review and review applicable regulations, as appropriate.
  • Prepare written reports, proposals, cost estimates, and other client deliverables
  • Adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans prepared for each project site. Participate in site safety briefings and audits by both contractors and Haley & Aldrich.
  • Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter.
  • Comply with company and client Health & Safety protocols.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geoscience, Geophysics or other related discipline. M.S. degree welcomed.
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional services consulting experience that includes evaluation/modelling of environmental, geological, and hydrogeological data and presentation of technical solutions in a variety of written and oral formats
  • Has professional certification in their core discipline (i.e. PG)
  • Experience with NJDEP regulations and guidance required, LSRP licensure or desire and ability to obtain, preferred
  • Experience leading investigations of the distribution and fate and transport of chemicals in complex geological/hydrogeological settings including bedrock aquifers (sedimentary/fractured); experience with Technical Impracticability Determinations a plus.
  • Experience in developing investigation work plans to characterize bedrock aquifer properties through a variety of methods including, but not limited to exploratory boreholes, coring and matrix sampling, downhole geophysics, and packer testing.
  • Experience in preparing project deliverables to communicate findings of geological, hydrogeological, and chemical fate and transport investigations, evaluate remedial alternatives, and propose remedial solutions.
  • Ability to direct subcontractors and ensure compliance with prepared safety plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Ability to travel to temporary assignments across the U.S.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation to travel to job sites and the office.
  • OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER and OSHA 10-hr. Construction Site Safety training preferred.
