Veterinary Internist

NVA, Langley, BC

Are you looking for an Internal Medicine opportunity within one of the most well-respected, long-established ERs in one of the most beautiful places in North America? The Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley is in search of a residency trained or board certified Internist to join our growing team, and wants to connect with you! As we look to expand into specialty, we are also seeking board certified veterinary surgeons, criticalists, and cardiologists to round out our team.

AECFV has been a well-respected emergency practice for 27 years. Located in Langley in the southern west coast of British Columbia's Lower Mainland, our location is perfect if you enjoy an active lifestyle combined with big city culture. Mountains, freshwater lakes, and lush forests provide you with an abundance of indoor and outdoor activities to suit every lifestyle. If you enjoy hiking, watersports, biking, horseback riding or snow sports, you're going to love it here!

With our mild climate you will find plenty to do outside all year. Vancouver and the surrounding cities offer a diverse culinary scene, live music, art galleries and museums along with a laid-back west coast vibe.

AECFV opened its doors in 1996 and has grown quite a lot since then, but our values have remained the same. Provide the best care possible to the pets in our community. AECFV is partnered with Ethos Veterinary Health. EVH is a community of more than 100 specialty and emergency hospitals across North America driven by the spirit of collaboration and focused on empowering the advancement of veterinary medicine at the local hospital level.

OUR HOSPITAL

AECFV is an AAHA and VECCS Level II accredited 24-hour emergency facility that is continually striving for innovation and growth. We have a team of over 100 incredible individuals and are one of the largest and busiest ER-only hospitals in Western Canada, providing coverage for more than 100 referring general practices.

We are proud to have one of the largest blood banks in Canada. A project that started almost 25 years ago to ensure we had blood products for our own patients, now ensures all veterinary hospitals in BC have access!

Our 8,000 sq ft hospital has all the bells and whistles you would expect that enable us to provide comprehensive, gold-standard patient care.

CULTURE

Our management team understands that continued education, physical and mental health, financial security along with sufficient time to unwind is vital to a stimulating and sustainable career. We want you to be the best you can be! Every member of our team is invaluable. Without a good team, we cannot provide the level of care our patients deserve. While we take patient care very seriously, we hold fast to our sense of family, fun and community by cultivating a culture of respect, kindness, and inclusion. At AECFV, we work as a team and the knowledge of all peer levels is respected. We value the unique experiences all our team members can contribute to our hospital and encourage collaboration on cases.

We know that working in veterinary medicine is not an easy career. Providing a health and wellness allowance along with counselling services is as important as having fun. Our clinic embraces a fun, team atmosphere, offering many extras like a stocked lunchroom, giveaways for event tickets and gift cards, and staff meals and parties. Providing an opportunity for our team to have fun and unwind outside of the hospital is important as well. We provide our social committee a yearly budget to organize activities throughout the year so you can recharge and connect with your teammates. We strongly believe in offering more than just a wage!

Our management team works hard to prioritize your healthy work-life balance and are invested in your personal growth and professional development!
