Engagement Manager (Growth PM) (3831)

SMX is seeking an Engagement Manager (Growth PM) with a strong background in managing FedRAMP cloud projects and delivering excellence. Engagement Managers will be expected to be familiar with all SMX service offerings (professional services, managed services, resale, digital transformation, etc.) and drive on-contract growth opportunities during project delivery. The successful candidate will be capable of building and maintaining a solid working relationship with coworkers and clients, from project delivery to expansion. The EM will act as Scrum Master and the central point of contact for all parties to orchestrate the delivery of the project. They will manage customer expectations and establish long-term partnerships by delivering complex projects effectively, on time, on budget, and according to agreed-upon scope. This is a remote position supporting a Herndon, VA based team. We are ideally looking for a resource local to the DC Metro area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Hands-on project management, including initiation, planning, and execution of projects and account-related activities, facilitating resolution of issues and roadblocks
• Effectively leverage Agile principles, coaching and training technical project and customer team members on best practices
• Be capable of managing the delivery of multiple cloud projects simultaneously
• Drive key decisions across projects, manage customer expectations, present and interface with project sponsors, and communicate trade-offs and risks
• Knowledge of AWS funding programs, incentive structures, and overall go-to-market approach
• Encourage and facilitate collaboration amongst team members, and promote an inclusive working environment
• Participate as a team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment
• Serve as the primary SMX contact during project execution, maintain relationships with stakeholders and internal SMX teams
• Contribute to on contract growth by identifying additional engagement opportunities and building lasting relationships with clients
• Influence and persuade clients and stakeholders to gain support for any major change initiatives and/or decisions
• Assist in developing Statements of Work (SOWs) and delivering presentations for potential expansion opportunities
• Advance the practice by supporting in the development of thought leadership and client references

Required Skills/Experience
• At least 5 years of experience in the technology industry, managing projects through a full lifecycle, ideally within a service delivery / consultancy environment
• At least 3 years of hands-on Agile experience, acting as Scrum Master
• Experience with managing FedRAMP Cloud projects with the ability to anticipate potential issues and pro-actively mitigate
• Extensive knowledge of project management disciplines, methodologies, best practices, and tools
• Strong communication skills; experience presenting to executives
• Customer-facing consulting experience or experience delivering technology services projects
• Proven experience expanding customer relationships through on-contract growth
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, software development, networking infrastructure, data, and/or security
• Self-starter with a result oriented proactive management approach
• 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience with AWS
• Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and collaborate effectively as a team member
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Customer-focused attitude
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) strongly preferred

Desired Skills/Experience

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (a plus)

The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is:

$113,900-$170,900 USD
