In this role within ADP's award winning Time product, you will work in an Agile development environment to bring the designs and ideas to life for new or improved products and web applications. This work will support a mix of internal and external clients that support our current generation and next generation of ADP Time. You will be working on current and upcoming projects - design, network, engineering, product development, quality assurance, operations, security and implementation. You'll share your operational and process maturity with a growing team while building products for large enterprises to enable their workforce management.

No two days are the same as you work with your team, business leaders, UX, product and project management to understand our next wave of work. To thrive in this role, you'll need to be comfortable building applications for on premises or cloud-native along with a solid understanding of technologies, including APIs, distributed systems design, operational scaling and availability, and application integrations, quality assurance, operations and support. You'll need versatile knowledge of coding languages, including front-end, scripting, and back-ends like Java, Javascript, .net, Angular, JS frameworks, Java, Database Technologies and have a firm grasp on Spring Boot, web services, RESTful APIs, open source tools or others. You should have experience working full stack with front-end, scripting, and back-end experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:
  • You'll start each day with a scrum, working in a team to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate coding priorities while choosing user stories to complete. You must know Agile well.
  • Your seven or more years of team leadership have delivered amazing results, and you pride yourself on developing the people who work for you, as well as providing an inclusive team environment where they all can thrive. If asked, they would follow you anywhere and enthusiastically credit you with helping to grow their careers.
  • Working in two-week sprints, you must keep up with timelines and coding standards. You'll be looking ahead to the next coding criteria to build technically sound and functional tools.
  • Continuous Learning. An eagerness to learn will help you keep up with ever-changing technologies and maintain the ability to create the best tools for our clients. You are comfortable and thrive in an autonomous role since that will be essential for your success.
  • You'll work with business leadership and project management to understand priorities and create automation accordingly.
  • You will present and defend your team's approach to leadership. There is no typical day as you partner and work with people across the development organization to turn ideas into reality.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
  • An advanced degree is not required but could set you apart. What's more important is having the skills and experience to do the job.
  • Prior experience in these technologies are also strongly recommended:
  • Advanced knowledge of microservices stack--.Net, Java, Docker, Redis, REST/JSON, and SQL/Oracle/Postgres, Kafka
  • DevSecOps and automated change management through Jenkins, Ansible, or similar technologies.
  • Drive and own software methodologies and practices within the team
  • Drive architecture, design, and development deliverables within the team
  • Champion and deliver great user experience Work with close cross-functional alignment with designers, fellow engineers, and the product and business stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date on software technologies to influence decision making on the right technology choices
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design concepts and microservices
  • Expert knowledge of:
    • Hands on experience developing server side applications using Java programming and Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Integration, etc.)
    • Deep experience with RESTful APIs design and implementation
    • Deep experience with Database technologies mainly RDBS (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
    • Preferred knowledge and experience on one or more of these Database technologies - NoSQL
    • Experience working with AWS cloud technologies and services
    • Event sourcing and distributed message systems (SNS/SQS, preferred)
    • Build tools and dependency management (Gradle, Maven)
    • Fluent in CI/CD technologies and test automation
    • Understanding of the testing pyramid (unit, functional, integration, system, API testing) and testing approaches TDD, BDD
    • Experience with Agile / SCRUM methodology for product development
  • Conduct rigorous system testing and troubleshooting to optimize the performance of digital solutions
