Responsibilities
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
- Sterilize dental instruments properly
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
- Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
- Clean and protect patient's teeth
- Educate patients of all ages
- Take X-rays if needed
- Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatment, such as Scaling & Root Planing, Laser & Iodine, Dental Antibiotics, Night Guard or Invisalign and for various diseases, such as Oral Cancer.
