brytemove energy is a leading provider of Electric Vehicle infrastructure engineering and construction services, primarily to commercial operators. Founded in 2012, the Company is focused on the design, engineering, construction, installation, and maintenance of level 2 and level 3 high power fast-charging stations, which typically serve a variety of clients including EVSPs, utilities, fleet owners, Auto and Charging OEMs. EVI is an experienced provider of turnkey charging installation solutions from inception to commissioning, which can include the integration of solar, energy storage, software applications, and other solutions through a network of partnerships.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Civil General Foreman will oversee civil foremen and multiple
crewmembers to implement and install the civil scope of work for medium to large scale electrical systems. Also manage work sequencing, interpret blueprints and schematics, and ensure safe and timely completion of all projects. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, and our ideal candidate possesses significant prior experience organizing and administering multiple crews on various work sites. Work duties include but are not limited to the supervision, installation, and execution of layout, demolition, equipment operation, excavation, backfill, forms, rebar, bollards, concrete, concrete finishing, and asphalt.

- Create effective communication between brytemove personnel, subcontractors, and the project management team.
- Review project plans, understand structural requirements, specifications & installation instructions to ensure that the project is built according to the approved design and specifications
Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents on problem resolution, implementing ongoing efficiencies, and improving ways of accomplishing project goals.
- Recommend and incorporate changes in procedures, objectives, or best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, and availability of materials.
- Ensure success for all project functions including resources, budget, and schedule.
- Ensure all project work is completed in accordance with specifications, schedule, and safety.
- Provide daily reporting to the Superintendent regarding/forecasting manpower, resources, equipment, and project status.
- Notify Superintendent immediately upon subordinate infractions. This includes but not limited to violations of PPE, safety practices, improper installation techniques, tardiness, no-show, etc. This will ensure that proper disciplinary action/training actions can be made by the Superintendent. Disciplinary actions are not to be decided by the Civil General Foreman.
- Civil General Foreman is responsible to enforce stop work authority upon safety violations and immediately notify Superintendent and notify DL-Safety immediately.
- Assure safe workplace practices are always followed and drive safety awareness through leading by example.
- Manage, monitor, and maintain project labor hours to ensure project profitability vs project budgets.
- Establish, promote, and protect brytemove values including diversity, teamwork, fair work environment, and respect of others.
- Maintain a “team” spirit within the business unit.
- Work and cooperate with other disciplines (across company lines).
- Use resources effectively and efficiently.
- Promote and protect the community perception of brytemove.
- Build and maintain positive client relationships resulting in increased business, repeat customers, and industry referrals. Communicate company and project policies, procedures, and standards.
- Gather feedback and continuously make improvements to work processes, practices, and equipment.
- Participate in achieving a zero-injury culture through the support of brytemove energy’s Injury Prevention and Safety program.
- Complete internal administrative organization and documentation, including project logs, files, records, and reports.
- Lead by example with project team and brytemove energy core values.
- Provide documentation to management and Human Resources for disciplinary action as required.
- Help ensure that all direct report’s timecards are accurate vs. actual hours worked.
- Verify that all direct report are taking the appropriate rest periods and meal breaks per state laws.
- Help ensure that all employees are correctly allocating their time to correct task codes within site tracker.
- Verify, account for, and file biweekly toolbox talks/safety meetings for all active personnel at assigned jobsites.
- Verify that all daily reports have been provided by the field and uploaded to Site Tracker.
- Create Job Hazard Analysis as required.
- Attend project kick off meetings. Provide input and buy off on estimated equipment, incidental and direct labor hours.
- Complete assigned monthly LMS Safety Skills Training.
- Prior to starting any work outside of the contracted projects SOW. Civil General Foreman must verify that BME has a signed C/O for the work in place. The signed C/O must include pricing and be signed by the owner.
- Track and maintain records of all work performed outside of contracted SOW. Account for description of tasks performed, materials and equipment used and any other related cost impact for the additional work. Report these values to the Superintendent for possible impacts to the project costs and schedule.
- Collaborate with additional General Foreman. Hold them accountable for the same values that you are held to.
- Provide accurate forecasting of materials and manpower needed to complete project tasks.
- Hold field personnel accountable for material ordering in a timely manner. All material / equipment orders must be submitted four days in advance of needing material.
- Require all field credit card purchases to be authorized prior to purchasing material.
- Collect all packing slips, field receipts, concrete tickets etc. from field personnel.
- Maintain job site equipment logs to include equipment call off numbers, dates received, dates returned, equipment damage and deficiencies. All equipment must be utilized efficiently. No equipment is to sit for a prolonged length of time without usage. If equipment sits longer than 7 days without being used, the PM must be notified so a decision can be made to pull equipment off site.
- All vehicle damage reported immediately. Trucks must be maintained at standard maintenance intervals. Trucks must be always kept clean and neat.
- Verify that all tools are in proper working order and have been entered into our tool tracking system. Defective tools must be immediately removed from service and taken to the shop for repair.
- If an updated plan set comes out, Civil General Foreman is responsible to make sure the field is working off the correct one. Civil General Foreman must verify that Foreman is updating the drawings with as-built information daily.
- Civil General Foreman shall perform, conduct, verify and report milestone inspections per the company Quality Control Program.
- Civil General Foreman is to maintain SWIPP’s, ensure all dirt spoils are covered and secured. Keep water away from all ditches and excavations by rerouting of storm water, roof drain run off away from effected areas. Overall jobsite cleanliness maintained daily.
- Verify that field staff that is operating equipment has proper current certifications required to operate such equipment and that the certification / license is current and valid.
- Renew all certifications / licenses as required by governing authority.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as lead project Foreman
- OSHA 30 Hour and First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
- Working knowledge of California Building Code
- Commercial civil experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Travel Required. Must be able to travel outside of Orange County/LA area
- Organized, excellent verbal and written communication
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining a safety focused culture.

- Good organizational skills and accurate paperwork processing
- Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring of construction teams.
- Strong attention to detail
- Valid Driver’s License with clean record and the ability to maintain continuous coverage on Company’s auto insurance plan.

The employee will:
- Perform work at various heights up to 50’, working from ladders, bucket trucks, scaffolding, catwalks, aerial lifts or other safe working platforms.
- Work in restricted areas like trenches or switchgear rooms and infrequently like manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attic spaces, etc.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) always, including hard hat and safety glasses.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
- Lift 51 pounds.
- Constantly moving on your feet, all day long.
- Climb ladders of all types.
- Complete overhead work for full day’s assignments.
- Possess good vision (natural or corrected)
