Adecco is assisting a local client in Torrington, CT in hiring an Assembler to assemble electro-mechanical products by working from manufacturing procedures, bill of materials, using hand tools, simple machinery, and technical documents.

This position prepares sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Capable of working independently and in a group. Work in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Apply, recommend, and follow Lean practices. Primary responsibilities:

• Perform electronic and mechanical assembly operations

• Work with a minimum of supervision following processes and procedures

• Prepare finished work for test, shipment, or storage

• Report defective materials, scrap, production problems, or any other unusual condition or circumstance

• Responsible for product quality and production quantity - work must be inspected to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards before, during, and after completion

• Maintain records and other pertinent data as instructed or required.

• Follow written work instructions, standard practices and procedures, offer improvement suggestions

• Maintain workstation in a clean and orderly condition

• Cross-train and work in other assembly areas

• Collect all material and equipment needed to begin assembly processes

• Remain flexible and willing to work in various operations depending on company needs

• Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition

• Support company initiatives including continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and products

• Recommend corrective and preventive actions

• Follows all safety rules and report questionable conditions to supervisor

• Pick orders and deliver to shipping for packaging

• Assist in shipping with packing and shipping processes as needed

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience using a broad range of hand tools

• Manual dexterity to manipulate and put small parts together quickly and accurately

• Basic computer navigation and utilization skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem

• Basic inspection/auditing experience a plus

• This position works as both independently and in a team environment

• This position requires the ability to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly Ability to tolerate repetitive work for long periods of time in a precise manner.

Pay Details: $18.00 per hour
