Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Dispatcher for a contract position in Allentown, PA. The opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Dispatcher for a contract position in Allentown, PA. The opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary: During shifts in conjunction with the System Operator and appropriate supervisors, contacts, directs, and dispatches personnel to respond to service problems and emergencies.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Direct and dispatch work crews to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
- Coordinates activities with Distribution and Transmission system operators to ensure the safe and effective use of resources.
- Informs Distribution and Transmission system operators of critical information to ensure the most effective and safe response to customers.
- Interact with the client and contractor crews performing work and restoration on the system in a professional manner.
- Interact with the 911 centers in a professional manner and ensure all required information is transmitted between the parties to allow the client and emergency personnel to respond to emergencies in the most efficient and safest way possible.
- Receives and handles calls during emergency conditions and service interruptions.
- Performs in a courteous and professional manner while satisfying customer inquiries and complaints, both verbal and written.
- Promotes high standards of customer and public relations.
- Calls out, directs and dispatches personnel, secures assistance or requests help from other departments as necessary.
- Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to ensure the most effective use of resources.
- Perform administrative functions.
- Performs such other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
- Responds to call-outs as required by company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems.
- Ability to obtain NERC/CIP PSP clearance..
- Successful completion of CRITICAL test
Preferred:
- Experience in dispatching work via an electronic system
