Arcadis seeks an Area Manager for our Transportation Design and Engineering team in Florida. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:The Arcadis team is expanding and involved in providing solutions to some of the most complex and exciting highway design challenges for the FDOT, Florida Turniplike and select municipalities in Florida. We are looking for a candidate with the skills to support our current projects and help continue to grow our business by building relationships with clients and teaming partners; support pursuit activities as well as help recruit staff to continue to grow our staff.Role accountabilities:Be responsible for profit and loss of Florida D&E group. This includes developing budgets, managing expenses and overseeing project execution per project plan.Recruiting, mentoring and providing directions to Project Mangers and key discipline leads around project execution including risk management, scoping, pricing and scope/budget management.Work with quality team to implement quality management activities within project execution.Conduct monthly project reviews to oversee project execution, discuss projects risk management plan, validate resourcing needs, and monitor project progress again key performance indices.Conduct regular client check-ins to monitor client satisfaction with Arcadis’ performance. Interaction with client point of contact as well as technical staff, either as a team or individual, making presentations, and managing client expectations.Participating in business development activities including client visits, marketing strategy development and proposal preparations. Specific role may include serving as project pursuit lead in key opportunities to guide our team towards efficient development of proposal to maximize Arcadis’ chances to selection.Performing various roles on multi-disciplined projects including QA/QC reviewer, technical advisor, design leader and/or client facing project manager.Preparation of written reports, calculations and other design documentation.Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications 18 or more years of relevant engineering experience. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Florida Professional Engineering license, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.Key Skills/Attributes In-depth understanding of FDOT’s project delivery processes. Experience delivering projects in FDOT D5 and/or FDOT D7 Ability to run operations of a growing design and engineering growing following Arcadis’ process and industry best practices. Must have strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills and be a self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible individual who possess the initiative and ability to tackle project and resourcing challenges. Excellent, clear and concise, oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports.Preferred Qualifications Experience delivering projects with Florida Turnpike Design Build Experience working with Contractor Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
