The Account Director role is an individual contributor responsible for prospecting and closing sales in GumGum's Market Leading Contextual Advertising platform. Reporting to Group Sales Director in New York, this role is responsible for developing key relationships within large and mid-size agencies with occasional managerial guidance on strategic client calls. We require this role to work relatively autonomously while being supported by a cross-functional pre-sales team.
Account Directors have experience and deep knowledge of the online media landscape, the advertising community and have at least 4+ years of digital media experience. The Account Director uses existing processes to solve a variety of challenging problems to deliver for clients. The role is required to apply independent judgment and discretion to select appropriate options from GumGum's defined and proven products.
Note: GumGum fosters a flexible work environment, offering GumGummers the ability to work either in-office or remotely/from home. However, for occasional in-person collaboration, we kindly ask that this position be located within a 'commutable' distance to our office.

What You'll Achieve
- Manage a $4M+ book of business on the East Coast, focusing on revenue growth and new business, particularly in New York.
- Prospect and expand relationships with mid-to-large agencies across various accounts.
- Identify and qualify opportunities from marketing-driven leads.
- Conduct high-volume sales activities, including cold calls, presentations, RFPs, and creative sales solutions.
- Upsell display, video, and additional products like Verity, providing clients with key market insights.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with brands and agencies to support their marketing and advertising goals.
- Share client feedback with the Product team to enhance service offerings.
- Collaborate with Account Managers, CSM, PSM, and other internal teams to ensure successful proposal implementation and alignment with client expectations.
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in Media, Marketing, or Advertising)
- 4+ years in digital ad sales with a strong sales track record
- Experienced in managing $4M+ portfolios and selling Programmatic
- Network in New York and Philadelphia markets
- Proficient in Salesforce, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Uses SellerCrowd and checks the trades for updates on accounts
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented
- Relationship builder, team player, and self-starter
At GumGum, competitive base pay is a part of a total rewards package which also includes benefits, an emphasis on recognition, development, and wellness. The reasonable estimated base pay range for this role is from ($107,000 - $130,000) annually. The actual amount may be higher or lower. Individual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, work location, and labor market conditions.
The total rewards package offered also includes an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan, and depending on the role, participation in a bonus, commission, or stock incentive program.
