Job Title: Assembly Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to perform basic mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. The ideal candidate will operate hand and power tools to complete assemblies, ensuring quality standards are met throughout all steps of the assembly process. This role requires effective communication with management and team members on the production floor and involves performing standard testing and troubleshooting. Responsibilities Perform basic mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. Conduct leak testing. Operate hand and power tools to complete assemblies. Read and interpret work instructions to ensure accuracy. Communicate effectively with management and team members on the production floor. Perform standard testing and minor and major troubleshooting. Ensure quality standards are met throughout the assembly process. Perform other duties as required. Essential Skills Proficiency with hand and power tools. Experience with mechanical and electronic assembly. Ability to read schematics and blueprints. Troubleshooting skills. Experience with cable and electrical wiring assembly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a non-manufacturing environment is considered. Cable and harness assembly experience is a plus. Work Environment The work is performed primarily in a standard manufacturing environment with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. The role involves physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, and grasping. You should be able to lift up to 25 lbs. independently or more with assistance. The position requires wearing personal protective equipment and involves exposure to electrical currents, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, debris, and noise levels. Standing or sitting for extended periods, talking on the phone, and using a computer may also be required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hayward, California.
