Job Summary

The International Trade Analyst's substantive focus will involve U.S. import regulatory and related matters, including: U.S. Customs and Broder Protection administration and disputes, antidumping and countervailing duty investigations, and other unfair trade litigation (e.g., 232, 301 and 201 proceedings). The Analyst is also accountable for providing administrative support and customer service to the International Trade Group in order to meet critical deadlines within established guidelines.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists attorneys in advising clients in import regulatory matters enforced by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) including entry process, Harmonized System classification, valuation, origin, free trade agreements, and human rights (forced labor).
  • Assists attorneys in preparing filings with CBP such as protests, prior disclosures, penalty petitions, detentions, exclusions and seizures, and responses to investigations, audits, and other information.
  • Assists attorneys and clients with completing Commerce and ITC questionnaire responses (including sections A through D (cost), APO filing procedures, and Commerce verifications.
  • Assists attorneys in the drafting of case and rebuttal briefs for Commerce, as well as pre- and post-hearing/conference briefs for the ITC.
  • Assists lawyers and trade analysts with the finalization and filing of documents at the International Trade Administration (ITA) and the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) related to U.S. antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) investigations via agency systems.
  • Monitors case developments at both the ITA and USITC.
  • Maintains electronic and paper files for AD/CVD cases in a clear and organized manner.
  • Analyzes, identifies, monitors, and conducts regular internal records management and administrative document archiving reviews and evaluations.
  • Assists attorneys with all aspects of other import regulation.
  • Under the direction of attorneys, interacts regularly with clients, vendors, and government agency employees.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts regarding matters of a complex nature. Requires patience, creativity, and discretion.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS suite to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, and standard work documents.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel to independently produce complex reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort while meeting deadlines and managing workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic, and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.

Education

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree. Customs Brokers License preferred.

Experience

It is preferred that the candidate has at least one year of experience with the following (education will be considered in lieu of experience):
  • U.S. Customs and Border Protection import regulation (e.g., customs brokers license)
  • U.S. antidumping and countervailing duty investigations
  • Other unfair trade litigation
  • Business accounting, financial statements, and economics

*The position title - Analyst, Senior Analyst or Specialist - will align with years of directly related experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities relevant to the position were attained.

Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. The pay range for this position is $75,000-$140,000. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. Other benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and all-purpose leave. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant's skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
