POSITION SUMMARY

Are you looking for an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience with a growing company? Check this out! Located at our Byron Center facility, the Transportation/Logistics Intern will support our business through reviewing, analyzing, and setting up delivery routes. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with:
  • Modeling and driving a culture of safety
  • Researching any missed deliveries from previous day
  • Building and maintaining delivery routes to maximize efficiency of people and resources to ensure exceptional customer service
  • Tracking and documenting overlapping delivery schedules between locations using heat map and agility
  • Coordinating and scheduling intercompany material transfers originating from the Byron Center facility
  • Documenting weights and dimensions to better understand available space on trailer
  • Conducting a periodic review of routes and efficiencies, adjusting as needed
  • Assisting with tasks and projects as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • College coursework in logistics required
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and standards strongly desired
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to read a map
  • High level of comfort with Microsoft Office
  • Ability and desire to learn new programs and systems
  • Ability to handle and resolve conflict/difficult situations productively and in a timely manner
  • Ability to make decisions independently
  • Ability to proactively ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations
