We are seeking a motivated, growth-focused, and energetic Business Development Manager in the Atlanta, Chicago, New York, or Washington, DC office at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP. Role Overview: The Business Development Manager is a key member of the firm's Client and Practice Development department, responsible for the development and implementation of business development goals and strategies for the Finance and Restructuring practice group. This role is predominantly attorney-facing, providing strategic guidance and support directly to attorneys and practice group leaders. The position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape and drive growth initiatives for an ambitious and fast-growing global practice.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Growth and Development: This role offers substantial room for growth. Business Development Managers are expected to take on a growth role as part of their overall professional development plan, dedicating up to 25% of their bandwidth to growth roles such as managing priority accounts, campaigns, or special projects.

This is a hybrid role and will require on-site presence 3 days per week. Salary is commensurate with years of relevant experience & geographic location. The range for this position is $125,000 - $170,000.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Knowledge Building: Demonstrate an aptitude for learning and develop an expertise in practice group capabilities, client base, and opportunities for cross-selling with other practices within the firm.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Practice Group Leader and attorneys to provide strategic guidance, identify growth priorities, and develop a comprehensive practice group strategic growth plan.
- Autonomous Execution: Execute the practice group growth plan, coordinating across practice groups, sectors, and geographies to achieve mutually beneficial growth ambitions.
- Market Insight: Stay current on market and industry trends, connecting these trends to growth opportunities.
- Brand Building: Develop and execute the practice group go-to-market plan focused on building the brand and raising the firm's profile.
- Client Growth Support: Support the growth of clients within the practice group, acting as a resource for Client Relationship Partners and key account teams.
- Collaborative Projects: Participate in cross-sector, cross-practice group projects and initiatives, contributing to the firm's broader business development goals.
- Marketing: Manage the development of pitches, pursuits, and other marketing collateral relevant to the practice group.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee practice group infrastructure needs, including communications, meetings, market intelligence research, and financial reporting.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual US practice group budget, tracking and evaluating ROI where possible.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in marketing or business administration
- Seven to ten years of experience in a business development manager role in a large, multi-office law firm or other professional services firm
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- An entrepreneurial spirit; self-directed, self-motivated, and highly professional; professional curiosity and an aptitude for learning
- Strong organizational and time management skills; logical, detail- and process-oriented; analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Practical understanding of the professional services industry and the partnership environment.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with research and client contact databases.
