This role demands a leader with a Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant designation, who can not only manage a team and oversee financial processes but also act as a trusted advisor on complex technical matters. The Vice President, Controller will be responsible for leading discussions with senior management, influencing change, and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Experience in external audits, compliance activities, and risk management is essential, as is the ability to set strategy for process improvement initiatives and ensure their effective implementation. The ideal candidate for the Vice President, Controller position at the company will have a mix of industry and public accounting experience, and a proven track record of building and leading successful teams. Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills are a must, as is proficiency in PC skills, especially Microsoft Office, Hyperion, and Oracle. The role requires a confident and poised influencer, capable of using their skills to achieve strategic goals and drive operational efficiency. The candidate should be adept at problem-solving, with the ability to define issues, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions. Experience in management reporting, including the preparation of various financial reports, and a background in process automation to streamline operations are highly valued.
