Job Summary:
The Digital Marketing Manager, reporting to the Director of Web and Content in the Marketing department, is primarily responsible for executing comprehensive digital strategies to enhance VISIT DENVER's brand presence, drive engagement, and generate leads. This role focuses on maximizing performance across digital platforms, including VISIT DENVER's websites, email, and content marketing channels. Key responsibilities include implementing website updates, managing email marketing campaigns, supporting SEO and SEM efforts, and guiding copy development, user experience, and content design to create cohesive, engaging digital experiences. The Digital Marketing Manager will evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and optimizations across VISIT DENVER's digital ecosystem-including VISITDENVER.com and specialized program sites (e.g., Denver Arts Week, Denver Restaurant Week, and Mile High Holidays), AI chatbots, and other digital channels-to enhance engagement and streamline user interactions while supporting integrated brand experiences.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Support VISIT DENVER's efforts related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
- Plan and implement web-based marketing strategies and campaigns through VISIT DENVER's websites for both leisure and trade audiences.
- Develop and execute email marketing strategies and campaigns targeted at both leisure and trade audiences.
- Coordinate with marketing team members to ensure active promotions and campaigns are accurately represented on the websites and in email communications.
- Manage day-to-day website updates and respond to ticketing system requests, utilizing VISIT DENVER's Content Management System (CMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Inform and execute the strategy, design, scheduling, and optimization of email as a primary marketing channel for communication, education, and lead generation.
- Act as a primary point of contact for digital technology partners to ensure the ongoing operations of the website and email programs, collaborating with the IT department as needed.
- Contribute to the development and execution of digital marketing initiatives, including developing functional specifications, consulting on schedules and budgets, vetting new technology platforms, and coordinating with various departments and vendors.
- Collaborate with the Director of Web and Content and Content Manager to assist in the strategy and execution of VISIT DENVER's search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) efforts aimed at increasing traffic from key search engines to our websites.
- Analyze and interpret data analytics to report on website performance and the success of specific initiatives, including advertising campaigns, email efforts, and social media posts.
- Drive the VISIT DENVER brand through its online presence, serving as the final design check for visual and written content across all websites and email campaigns.
- Stay informed about digital marketing trends and news to identify future growth strategies and opportunities.
- Deliver presentations on digital marketing topics to industry audiences as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of creating effective user experiences and developing content funnels to drive engagement and conversions.
- Proficiency in using generative AI tools for content development to complement and enhance human-driven content creation, including content generation, optimization, and personalization for improved digital engagement and efficiency.
- Familiarity with web technologies, including HTML5 and CSS, is beneficial but not essential.
- Proficiency using content management systems (CMS) such as Simpleview, WordPress, Joomla!, and Drupal.
- Proficiency using analytics tools like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and SEMRush to track performance and inform strategies. Clear understanding of data analysis and proven ability to analyze results and find solutions to complex problems.
- Solid grasp of content marketing principles and storytelling techniques to effectively engage audiences.
- Proficient technology application skills; Advanced MS Office (or Google Suite equivalent), email and web browsers.

Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Digital Marketing, Integrated Marketing and Communications, Tourism, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is required. Relevant work experience in digital marketing, content management, or related areas is also essential for this role. Certifications in digital marketing tools and platforms will be considered a plus.
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant work experience in digital marketing, content management, or related areas is required for this role. Certifications in digital marketing tools and platforms will be considered a plus; tourism, travel, and/or related industry experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, such as sitting or standing, for an extended period.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
