Job Title: Assembler Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assembler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling various products, following instructions, and utilizing hand and power tools. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to stand for extended periods, and the capability to lift heavy objects. Responsibilities Assemble parts and attachments following detailed instructions Utilize hand and power tools effectively Visually inspect parts prior to assembly Set up and prepare jobs for assembly Check part availability on the computer and obtain parts from inventory Use assembly tooling designed for the assigned cells, including presses, drill machines, testing fixtures, and assembly fixtures Assemble sub-assemblies and finished goods Apply materials such as Loctite, grease, and epoxy as specified Follow special handling instructions for product assembly Clean and prepare product surfaces for labeling using acetone Apply proper labeling to products Maintain and clean work area, including removing trash, wiping down table tops, and cleaning floors Rework failed products as necessary Essential Skills Experience with hand and power tools Strong attention to detail Ability to lift 50+ lbs Manufacturing experience Mechanical assembly experience Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with blueprint reading Experience in a manufacturing environment Assembly production experience Why Work Here? Work Environment Our facility manufactures essential connections and attachments for first responders and monitors for fire trucks. The work environment is clean and well-organized but not temperature controlled, so it can get warm in the summer and cold in the winter. Employees are allowed to wear knee-length shorts. The facility operates on a shift schedule with 2nd shift from 2pm-10pm, midnight shift from 10pm-6am, and day shift training from 8am-4pm. Steel-toed shoes are required. There is mandatory overtime of 2 hours each day, which can be done before or after the shift based on preference, and optional weekend overtime, typically needed at the end of the month. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valparaiso, Indiana.
