This position is not eligible for remote work**ResponsibilitiesThe Release Train Engineer (RTE) will act as a servant leaderFacilitates work for the Agile Release Train (ART) and is responsible for program execution, software delivery, escalating impediments, managing risk, and helping drive continuous improvement for the ARTThey will ensure clear communication working alongside Scrum Masters to remove impediments and help the ART towards success in meeting its PI objectivesThe RTE is expected to have a thorough understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and will be able to use the appropriate Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban/XP) to facilitate the ART level activitiesManages and optimizes the flow of value through the ART, facilitates ART level events (including I&A, SoS,) in helping to manage risks and dependencies—escalating impediments as neededDrives the journey towards high-performing teams and ARTs through transparency, team empowerment and continuous learning in order to promote Business Value deliveryEnables PI planning readiness through pre-PI planning activities (backlog reviews, preparedness reviews) working in conjunction with PM, Architects, Epic Owners, and Business OwnersHelps Product Management in their efforts to manage and prioritize the ART Feature Backlog, generate a Vision, and build a RoadmapDefine and document the ART’s development value streamAssists with the development of PI Objectives and publishes for visibility and transparencyTracks the execution of features and capabilities through metrics across ARTProduce and present ART level metrics on PI progress, impediments, quality and predictability.Facilitates system demosDrives relentless improvement via post-PI activities including Inspect and Adapt workshopsCoordinate cross-train/cross-functional dependencies and activities as needed to deliver value across multiple ARTsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience required5+ years leadership experience in related area (RTE, IT project management, technical program management, or scrum team leadership)Excellent project/program delivery track record managing IT software deliveryAbility to collaborate and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExcellent verbal & written skills with the ability to communicate progress, impediments, and actions across large stakeholder groupsStrong interest in relationship building across the organizationExperience working on software development teams and understand both SDLC and Agile Framework (SAFe)Experience working with remotely located global teamsAbility to use/create dashboards and metrics to communicate ART progressPosition Title: Release Train EngineerBusiness Unit: TechnologyReports to: Manager of Application AnalysisPosition Overview:The Release Train Engineer is an important part of our IT organization, managing software development for a product or product line. This role will ensure agreed upon deliverables are completed incrementally in an agile/SAFe framework. The incumbent is responsible for running/executing agile release train, which typically consists of cross functional groups subdivided into multiple development teams. They ensure all the inter/intra dependencies and risks are managed, and teams are focused on agreed upon deliverables such as working software at the end of each program increment.Primary Responsibilities:Facilitates work for the Agile Release Train (ART) and is responsible for program execution, software delivery, escalating impediments, managing risk, and helping drive continuous improvement for the ART.Enables PI planning readiness through pre-PI planning activities (backlog reviews, preparedness reviews) working in conjunction with PM, Architects, Epic Owners, and Business Owners.Tracks the execution of features and capabilities through metrics across ART.
