POSITION SUMMARY This Contracts and Legal Operations Manager will be primarily responsible for supporting all aspects of contracting activities. This position will also draft, review and finalize standard contracts and contract amendments in consultation with Senior Vice President, Legal and other members of the contract management team. This position will be responsible for updating contract templates and maintaining our contract database. This position will also assist the legal team in obtaining and managing legal records. This position will report to Senior Vice President, Legal and will be an individual contributor.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •            Draft, review and manage a wide range of contracts (which may include confidentiality agreements, SOWs, consulting and service agreements, materials transfer agreements, sponsored research agreements, clinical study agreements, and various vendor services agreements) under supervision of senior attorneys. •            Serve as an escalation point of contact for internal and external contract process/status questions and more complex contract negotiations. •            Manage contract workflow and work with senior leaders to ensure efficient contract execution. •            Maintain contract management system. •            Coordinate with outside counsel and in-house legal team to obtain legal documents,REQUIREMENTSExperience •            In-house experience at a biotechnology, pharmaceutical or life science company preferred, with a focus on agreement drafting and negotiation •            Experience working with attorneys and senior leaders •            Thorough understanding of contract terms and structure, contract management processes, including tracking, negotiation, approval and execution. •            Working knowledge of the drug discovery and development process and ability to understand risks and requirements associated with pharmaceutical contracting preferred. •            Ability to work both independently and effectively across a variety of functional groups (such as Commercial, Research and Development, CMC, Human Resources, Finance, Facilities and IT) and all levels of management. •            Flexible and willing to learn new procedures and skill sets. •            Experience with or knowledge of paralegal support tasks, with a focus on intellectual property matters, contract matters or corporate matters, preferred. •            Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Contract Management Systems).Education •     BS/BA degree in related discipline with a minimum of three to five years+ of related experience; candidates with advanced business or law degree and five or more years of experience preferred
