We unlock the next wave of opportunity at the edge through an at-scale ecosystem driving widespread adoption of our Microsoft cloud services.The Azure Edge + Platform engineering team is seeking a  Principal Software Engineer Manager-Azure Edge and Platform. In this role, you will lead a diverse team of passionate engineers with a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. Your primary responsibility will be to help your team achieve their best while maintaining excellent team health and ensuring everyone stays focused on delivering high-scale, cloud-native services for Windows partners and manufacturers. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer ScienceOR related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,OR PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.4+ years people management experience. Experience in implementing large-scale, low-latency, and high-quality distributed systemsKnowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar cloud computing platformsExperience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, and maintaining online servicesExpertise and knowledge in Agile engineering practices (Continuous Integration, TDD)Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
