The Director of Network Value Analysis will lead the Value Analysis Committee (VAC) functions with the responsibility for directory supply, equipment, and purchased Services initiatives utilizing the value analysis process. The Director will provide direction to all Value Analysis teams across the Network, including acute care, physician group, ambulatory sites, and other affiliate businesses. Also responsible for developing and executing a structured approach that will maximize data analytics and clinical evidence leading to product and equipment standardization, and supply utilization and leading Materials Management Kaizen process improvement teams using lean methodology.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and supervises daily operations of Value Analysis staff including process efficiency to ensure high satisfaction in customer service.
  • Implements action plans and monitors compliance outcomes with goals, objectives, and process workflow.
  • Serves as an educator and mentor on the VAC process, works strategically and tactically to identify, analyze, improve, and implement best practices.
  • Develops, maintains, updates, and ensures strict adherence to all VAC related policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the VAC staff is optimizing the VAC information system (Med Approved).
  • Oversees the daily procurement operations for the St. Luke's Physician Group (SLPG), Urgent Care Centers, and other ambulatory clinics.
  • Develops communication strategies for product change notification as well as education to VAC team members and other users of Med Approved.
  • Collaborates with physicians, clinicians, and administrative staff to select products, equipment, and services for best overall value that meets clinical and financial needs.
  • Supports the Materials Management directors on the implementation and conversion for new products, contracts, and other departmental savings initiatives.
  • Actively works with the VA Committees and other key stakeholders to provide guidance on product and and equipment evaluations, selection, and implementations.
  • Provides Materials Management strategic support to home health, skilled nursing, and long-term care facilities. Collaborates with the relevant GPO and supply distributor to ensure accurate contract pricing.
  • Oversees or leads the Materials Management Kaizen teams for process improvement in the MM departments.
  • Presents implemented savings to Network Value Analysis Steering Committee at quarterly meetings.
  • Analyzes market conditions and statistical data, interviews vendors, and reviews catalogs and other source material to obtain information on items for purchase.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Standing for up to 4 hours, up to 1 hour at a time.  Walking for up to 4 hours per day, 1 hour at a time.  Sitting for up to 8 hours per day, 4 hours at a time.  Frequently uses fingers for data entry, etc.  Frequently uses hands for filing, telephone and loading printers with paper.  Uses upper extremities to lift up to 30 pounds.  Stoops, bends or reaches above shoulder level.  Hearing as it relates to normal and phone conversations.  Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision and visual monotony.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Health Care Administration, RN, BSN and/or 5 years’ experience in a healthcare setting.  Value Analysis experience preferred. Master’s degree preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Five (5) years’ experience in Purchasing or Materials Management in healthcare setting.  Must be accurate in dealing with figures.  Proficient computer/Microsoft Excel/ experience required.
