What you’ll be doing...
*This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 1-2025.*
Responsible for supporting multiple customer-facing Collections Systems used by Home Live Collections frontline employees. Serve as the subject matter expert for existing Live Collections Systems as well as future systems.
Candidate for this position should have a basic knowledge of live collections, and be able to support union and non-union frontline employees. They must be able to work to support the team, enable the business through technology enhancements, and handle various assigned tasks. They must demonstrate an understanding of systems and interdependencies of processes to drive the business forward. The candidate must also be able to identify improvement opportunities and prioritize these opportunities based on cost and benefit. The candidate should also be able to work well in a team environment and be an ambassador for building relationships between the team and stakeholders.
A key responsibility of this position is to identify issues, provide timely communication to stakeholders, and facilitate timely resolution by pulling in key partners. Tracking of multiple issues through resolution is required, as well as providing updates to leadership when needed.
What you will be doing...
Candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following job functions:
- Subject matter for any of our existing Live Collections Systems, including but not limited to the Live Collections GUI (currently iCollect), and communications systems (Exstream, eCRM), and the decisioning engine (Pega).
- Communications
- Issue investigation
- System updates
- System enhancement
- Regulatory/Legal required changes
- Support for reporting and analysis
- Pull adhoc data requests
- Process daily reporting metrics
- Pull data for executive level presentations
- Create and publish VZKnowledge docs to communicate with stakeholders.
- Partner with IT support; providing a clear description of any system issues and working towards quick and accurate resolution
- Conduct after hours regression testing prior to system changes/fixes being implemented in production
What you’ll need to have…
- Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years’ experience in a collections/credit or related environment required
- Independent thinking and self-motivation are essential
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Proven analytical skills and decision-making capabilities
- Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and work with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to conduct analysis/publication of results with identification of areas of weakness and the implementation of corrective action plans
- Ability to build Field, Staff and IT relationships and produce cooperation and consensus amongst a team of Subject Matter Experts.
- Expertise with managing projects from planning through implementation
- Proven ability to analyze and interpret system fallout queues, recognize issues, prioritize resolution and determine the full extent of the problem
- Ability to clearly articulate a process issue to all business partners and IT partners including Senior Leadership.
- Ability to bridge communication among technical and non-technical project staff and clients
- Proven analytical skills, including the ability to diagnose layered problems and dissect large groups of data using Access and Excel
Even better if you have...
- Experience in VZT Collection processes and systems, including working knowledge and/or understanding of the collection flow, regulatory guidelines, and processes for strategic & legacy products is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Pega, SQL or Data Visualization
- Experience with business case planning, business and functional requirement analysis, use case creation and execution, pre and post production testing and implementation.
- Project Management experience highly desired
- Strong PC skills. Proficient with Google Suites

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
