Civilian 911 Dispatcher Duties of a Dispatcher -Receives calls from the public in need of emergency assistance, records calls and/or alarms and determines appropriate action necessary. -Dispatches patrol cars, emergency fire and ambulance personnel . -Maintains communications between the Dispatch center and first responders. -Makes entries into NCIC and DCJS computer databases of wanted/missing persons, stolen property and other crime related and sensitive law enforcement information. -Runs checks on driver licenses, motor vehicle registrations, guns, property and forwards confidential responses to the law enforcement community. -Receives emergency and non-emergency calls from other agencies or the public requesting information, determines appropriate response and/or transfers the calls to the appropriate agency or department. -Records basic information such as locations, names, times and nature of complaints in a Computer Aided Dispatch system Qualifications At least 18 years of age High School Diploma or GED Reside in Livingston County (FT) Reside in Livingston County or adjacent County (PT) Pay/Benefits Competitive Pay ($26.08/hour) Paid Training Shift Differential Health Insurance Matching 401b Plan Paid Time Off - Vacation, Personal, Holiday, Sick Deferred Comp Match Retirement Please obtain an application at Livingston County Human Resources 6 Court Street Geneseo, NY or apply online at: https://livingstoncounty.us/DocumentCenter/View/12676/Application-for-examination-or-employment-updated-3-25-2021 * Full & Part-time opportunities available!
