Pay: $21.30/hour - $29.00/hr (full time, non-exempt) Includes Lead Pay Schedule: 4:30am - 3:00 pm Position Summary: The Assembly production employee removes bagging materials and plaster from composite parts. Responsibilities include: Provide direction and scheduling to production team members in their daily activities. Assigning work and giving directions. Monitor work progress. Communicate with all departments, logistics, engineering, and production management (to include management on other shifts), needs, priorities, and issues. Promote flow and pull of products and information to internal and ultimately external customers. Investigate and fix problems on the production floor. Coach, mentor, and develop team members by investigating root cause for scrap and RMA issues. Work with team and quality department to prevent recurrence. Train and orient new employees on company standards and procedures. Implement 5S tools and reduce variation in the work environment. Develop employees' continuous improvement abilities. Use and develop visual systems so that no problems are hidden. Actively seek to resolve any concerns while adhering to the company policy and standards of behavior. Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each employee and provide constructive feedback. Follow job traveler instructions to assemble parts using small hand tools, bonding adhesives and assembly jigs. Hand wraps insulation blankets, using utility knives, foam insulation, and insulation tape. Performs light sanding and abrading of composite, plastic, and some metal components. May perform some light riveting using rivet squeezes and pop rivet guns. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to read and understand detailed instruction. Intermediate to advanced math skills. Capability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; verbal and written. Able to identify defective materials and parts. Understanding of technology with the ability to learn new platforms and systems. Experience: One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred. Working Conditions: While performing typical duties of this job, production employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment. Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature controlled. Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Exposure to hazardous equipment. Exposure to contaminants. Shared workspaces with other employees. Requires handing objects of up to 50 lbs. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending. Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift, and overtime). Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee's position and exposure. Below are typical PPE used on the production floor.
