The Project Augustus team in the Moog Space and Defense Group is looking for a Operations Manager to join them. The Operations Manager will need to support the ongoing collaboration and demand management with the Space BU’s and design and create the people, processes and infrastructure to support a $200-Million-Dollar annual business with a team over 200 persons. It is planned that new facilities will need to be created to support this business along with a significant number of new hires as this program takes Moog into new markets and opportunities. This position can be located at our East Aurora, NY; or Niagara Falls, NY; locations.To be considered for the Operations Manager, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related degreeAt least 7 years of experience as a operations managerMinimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentAbility to manage in a fast paced growth environmentThis job requires an active US Government security clearance or the ability to obtain one. This clearance requires U.S. citizenship.Ability to manage through influence without direct line reporting in some casesAs the Operations Manager, you will:Support the ongoing collaboration and demand management with the Space BUs providing hardware. This role will also coordinate with many of the shared functions that will intentionally continue to reside in the BU’s.Design and create the people, processes and infrastructure to support a $200-Million-Dollar annual business with a team over 200 persons.Represent the Operations function on the PMO Staff. Be a key stakeholder on program teams in meeting contractual requirements and driving crucial decisions for our customers.Create a culture of repeatability within the project to support the transition to full rate production.Lead the Make/Buy/Where decision process for the product.Prepares long range planning for continuous departmental improvement. Alignment with other functional support resourcesResponsible for communication and alignment of strategy within operations functions, as well as alignment with other functional support resourceLead team through successful development and execution of monthly plans to meet schedule, revenue and cost requirements. Maintains and communicate daily, weekly, monthly KPIs / operations metrics.Participates in program review meetings with Moog and Moog’s customer.
