With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis seeks a Principal Water/Wastewater Consultant to join our Design and Engineering team as a “seller/doer”.  This technical position will be key to our growth in the US, undertaking conceptual and detailed process design for industrial water treatment and sustainability projects in a variety of industries including Technology, Food & Beverage, Life Science, among others.Role accountabilities:As a Principal Water/ Wastewater Consultant you will join the Design and Engineering team as a “seller/doer”. This technical position will be key to our growth in the US, engaging with clients in a meaningful way to help grow our team’s revenue and enable the team to continue to grow. This individual will connect with clients, learn their needs and assess how Arcadis can support them, help to create opportunities with clients, and will lead and be involved in the preparation of proposals. This ‘selling’ aspect will be 50% of the role. In addition, this person will be undertaking conceptual and detailed process design for industrial water treatment and sustainability projects in a variety of industries including Technology, Food & Beverage, Life Science, etc.. This ‘doer’ aspect represents the other 50% of this role.  In this role, you will be a key member of Arcadis' national practice and will lead and direct the development of industrial water/wastewater projects throughout North America across multiple sectors and for numerous Arcadis clients. Industrial Water is one of the fastest growing global business sectors and at Arcadis we are poised for significant growth through the delivery of large, complicated projects across a diverse sector of clients and geographies. In this role you will be engaged in the Client Management / Development process along with serving as a technical expert during the execution of projects. This is a client facing role with an expectation to collaborate with various Arcadis locations to support projects and client development nationally as well as globally. This opportunity is ideally suitable for someone who comes from a consulting engineering background within the Industrial Water/Wastewater Sector.Role accountabilities:Support Arcadis’ industrial water growth in North America Lead business development activities to increase project wins and develop long lasting client relationships. Routine tasks include: Reaching out to your client network on a regular basis to stay connected and assess if there are any opportunities to assist them with key needsLeading pursuits and development of proposals,Client meetings for business development,Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions,  Participating in client interviews,Engaging with Arcadis’ regional, national, and global client account teams, supporting the expansion of business development opportunities and client relationships to strategically grow Arcadis’ industrial water/wastewater portfolio, leveraging existing and new client relationships.Preparation of abstracts and technical papers.Support the development of the Industrial Water process team across a variety of market sectors.Annual Sales Goal: 2025: >$1MM net revenue2026: $2MM to $3MM net revenue2027 and forward: $3MM to $4MM+ net revenue, as well as targeting 1 progressive design build project per yearLead projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of Water / Wastewater treatment plants and wastewater recycle plants for industrial clients.Coordinating multi-disciplined engineering teams.  Lead or serve as Subject Matter Expert for complex engineering designs for industrial water projects while collaborating with other design disciplines. Routine tasks include: Design basis documents (provide direction/review)Engineering calculations including mass and energy balances (provide direction/review)Review of engineering drawings (P&IDs and Layout)Specifications for treatment equipment, instrumentation, and controlsEngineering reports and feasibility studies (provide direction/review)Quality reviewsManage technical coordination and leadership roles on larger or complex projects or projects with higher associated risk. Lead knowledge transfer and development of staff within your area of expertise.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study preferred15 years of industrial water/wastewater treatment experience preferredHeld prior roles across engineering, project management, sustainability, sales, marketing, and technologyKnowledge and experience with industrial clients in North AmericaPreferred Qualifications:Professional Engineer License Knowledge and experience with multinational industrial clientsPrevious experience in a regional role and collaboration across regional teamsWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
