Adelphi is seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses to performs advanced vocational nursing work for a facility in San Antonio, Texas. Provide for the care, treatment, and general welfare of at the facility. Perform basic and advanced routine and non-routine nursing tasks to promote the health of the individuals within the assigned areas and assigned shift. Collect specimens for lab work and perform health screenings. Instruct direct support professionals and other staff on how to provide service and care that support medical needs. Perform technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations. Keep informed of and follows all agency policies and procedures. Provide direction and assists with on-the-job training to others such as newly hired LVNs & direct care staff. Provide on-the-job nursing instruction and training for new LVNs as requested by RN Supervisor. Monitor, oversee the work of, and assign work to, psychiatric nursing assistants as needed. Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes & provide input to other members of the healthcare team. Assist RNs with implementation of protocols, procedures, and programs to improve overall health and safety of staff and individuals. Work under the limited supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
