Overall Summary:

The Lean Champion establishes IWCO's Lean culture using the tools of Lean and Six Sigma. The Lean Champion uses these tools to engage employees in waste elimination, cost reduction and performance improvement.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop the implementation plan to drive business results using tools including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Poka-Yoke, etc.
  • Devise strategies to support institutionalizing the organization's knowledge of Lean.
  • Collect and analyze operating data, including cycle time and quality, to identify and set priorities.
  • Utilize Value Stream Mapping to identify and prioritize key priorities and baseline metrics.
  • Mentor and coach project leaders, managers and superiors in the use and implementation of Lean principles.
  • Facilitate the definition of workflows, process inputs and outputs and responsibilities related to new equipment installations.
  • Conduct, lead, and facilitate cross-functional Kaizen events, monitor Lean progress and report results.
  • Devise new, or modify and adapt existing, methods, techniques, and procedures to meet new or unique requirements and make related decisions within the limits of established policies.
  • Manage, motivate, and engage employees to be proactive in problem solving and deadline adherence.
  • Perform other (or other related) duties as applicable or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency including Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with reporting and dashboard creation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Agility to effectively perform in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong prioritizing and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to create and give presentations.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • 5+ years' Lean or Six Sigma experience, preferably in print/direct mail and/or manufacturing.
  • Certification in Lean or Six Sigma, or equivalent training.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work 8 hours consecutively.
  • Occasionally work on the production floor during Kaizens.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to support projects and Continuous Improvement events.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Hybrid On-Site (3 days in office)
