Maintenance Manager
Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced maintenance manager for our new Edmonton Net Zero Hydrogen Energy Complex (Edmonton III) in construction East of Edmonton.
The basic function of the Maintenance Manager to is to provide leadership and technical support to facilitate, direct and coordinate the development, performance, definition, and improvement of the maintenance department systems. In addition, the maintenance manager will help establish a capable, continuously improving, and integrated high-quality maintenance work force with focus on improving plant equipment integrity and reliability at the lowest sustainable cost to Air Products.
This role will require the candidate to gain an understanding of all aspects of the site's operation with a specific focus on leadership skills as a front-line supervisor. This Site Supervisor will have direct leadership accountability for the site operators. The site supervisor is responsible for overall facility safety, plant operational reliability, implementing productivity improvements, budget management and customer interface as well as working in conjunction with the regional maintenance team coordinating all maintenance activities at the site.

Job Duties
- Support maintenance forms and reporting within the field service management platform
- Review all scheduled work with team members to ensure all aspects of the work and scope are clearly understood.
- Provide guidance to the Project Execution Strategy (Modularization Strategy, Construction Pkg Strategy etc.) and make strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
- Coach and assist employees in effectively monitor and maintain equipment condition.
- Deliver hands-on and technical training as required.
- Develop and review maintenance plans and work safety plans with the Maintenance Team to assure that all issues are addressed.
- Oversee trailer loading operations, and always promote safety rules and regulations
- Actively participate in the BSP Program and other safety programs, promote and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping
- valuate personnel performance level to provide development opportunity and growth feedback.
- Lead and participate in the management of change process.
- Lead sustaining capital projects.
- Interface closely with plant operations and Leadership Teams to ensure that work priorities reflect equipment criticality and equipment condition.
- Promote an atmosphere of team spirit through open communications, good listening skills and timely problem resolutions.
- Encourage teamwork and cooperation within the team and organization.
- Maintain an environment that encourages employee participation and involvement (develop & empower).
- Provide feedback to continuously improve the competitiveness of internal engineering standards and work processes for out-sourced packaged equipment and processing facilities
- Drive continuous improvement in safety performance, reliability and cost of non conformance goals.
- Evergreen and ensure the administration of a sound preventative and reliability centered predictive maintenance program which eliminates unplanned shutdowns and ultimately enhances overall reliability, profitability and product quality.
- Utilze SAP in managing maintenance work, maintenance planning and spare parts. The database is also used in capturing equipment history and costs.
- Lead in short and long range planning and execution of essential programs, turnarounds and productivity processes.
- Promote efficient cost-effective maintenance by fostering planning and scheduling and an efficient workflow.
- Update indices and communicate work progress, safety incidents, unusual activities, exceptions, overtime, call-outs, absences, opportunities and any other work stoppage or issue that might arise.
- Provide time effective "on call" plant maintenance support of a 24 hr, 7 day per week operation.
- Travel will be required on a needed basis.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSc in Mechanical or related Engineering field is required.
- 10+ years in maintenance, engineering and / or operations management roles is desired.
- 5+ years of engineering and maintenance leadership in a power generation, petrochemical.
- Demonstrated commitment to EH&S with a track record of success in Safety, Environmental protection, Quality, Regulation compliance and employee involvement
- A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity
- Ability to effectively interface with support groups
- A self-starter with proven leadership abilities
- Strong organizational skills strong leadership abilities coupled with excellent broad based technical skills and good business acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to promote respect and teamwork in the workplace
- Computer literacy, MS Office platform and SAP.
