Position Overview:

The Global Mobility Specialist is a pivotal role that provides comprehensive support to our internal clients regarding their Global Immigration and Mobility matters. The specialist will serve as an expert in managing assessments and case initiations and providing support for clients and their employees on immigration, relocation, and global mobility matters. This role requires flexibility to accommodate global clients' needs and a strong understanding of various relocation, global mobility, and immigration processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Service: Act as one of the primary contacts for global clients and their employees regarding immigration, global mobility, and relocation inquiries, updates, and concerns, ensuring a superior, high-touch, and responsive immigration experience.
  • Visa Process Strategy and Delivery: Collaborate with Klasko and in-market lawyers to secure the appropriate visa and legal permanent residency (if applicable) for temporary and permanent international transfers, offering counseling and advocacy for clients in relation to immigration and relocation matters throughout the immigration journey (pre-departure, at entry, and post-arrival).
  • Program Management: Administer and manage the processes and programs for global work, collaborating closely with Klasko lawyers and in-market counsel.
  • Policy Administration: Develop harmonized global mobility, immigration, and relocation policies and packages, and ensure their consistent application across the globe.
  • Relocation Services Support: Provide recommendations for selection of and guide clients in partnering with international relocation providers to ensure adherence to client's Global Immigration and Mobility policies
  • Compliance Support: Monitor corporate compliance with various countries' immigration rules while consulting with US operating companies (HR and business partners) regarding the application of expatriate programs, spotting compliance issues for attorney escalation proactively in order to notify client's HR, Legal, Tax, and Payroll teams for addressing.
  • Payroll and Tax Coordination: Identify payroll and tax considerations related to transfer allowances, tax policies/guidelines, and international split payrolls
  • Finance Collaboration: Work closely with other Global Immigration and Mobility team members to ensure proper cost allocation of invoicing to and from foreign affiliates, including the preparation of cost estimates for different stakeholders depending on the need
  • Regular Programs and Special Projects Leadership: Lead various Global Mobility programs and projects related to expatriation or permanent international transfers (e.g., home leave, expatriate salary revision or short-term bonus, tax settlements, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of global immigration paralegal, US immigration paralegal, and/or HR generalist experience.
  • Knowledge and/or experience coordinating benefits, tax, payroll, compensation, or immigration matters is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Global Mobility and/or relocation is highly desirable.
  • Global Mobility professional certification is a plus

Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for reporting purposes
  • Understanding of international taxation and US immigration is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and pay attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Mathematical abilities to perform moderately complex calculations
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees throughout the organization
  • Ability to exercise and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
