This Opportunity

WSP is searching for a SUE Project Manager to help lead and grow the Orlando, FL office footprint, in collaboration with our Vice President of Survey in our southeast region. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established motivated team of high performers.

Your Impact
  • Assist in maintaining responsible charge of all aspects of SUE division staff and projects in and around the Florida region.
  • Oversee the management, planning, scheduling, QA/QC and oversight of multiple SUE crews and SUE projects for both internal WSP projects, as well as our external clientele.
  • Coordinate with state and local municipalities to obtain proper certifications and permits for SUE work within their jurisdictions
  • Provide Training and Mentorship to SUE technicians on the "best practices" of utility designation and training on up-to-date methodology.
  • Provide Training and Mentorship to SUE technicians on the "best practices" of Vacuum Excavation (test holes).
  • Provide oversight of any required subconsultants for SUE services, such as safety/traffic controls, concrete cutting, removal and repair, etc.
  • Represent WSP at external meetings, conferences, and other business development-related activities.
  • Administer Proposals and Estimates as may be needed.
  • Promote a positive work environment.
  • Screen and Hire new Team Members.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • 11 years of relevant experience in the discipline with prior SUE Project Management
  • Experience with both public and private sector work (e.g. state, city, county, utility districts, and private land development.)
  • Highly Proficient with SUE principles, theories, practices, processes, methods and techniques in accordance with "Standard Guideline for Investigating and Documenting Existing Utilities" ASCE 38-22.
  • Proficiency with land survey principles, practices, processes, methods, and techniques.
  • Highly proficient expertise with relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Demonstrated technical competence leading and reviewing SUE technical reports, survey mapping efforts, impact evaluations, siting reports, planning scopes, and environmental permit applications for assigned segments/project.
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior-level teams or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
  • Experienced with providing critical reviews for documents and preparing technical deliverables with a high degree of complexity.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
