Position Title: General Internal Medicine Faculty
Location: Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Odessa, TX
Position Overview:
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Odessa is seeking a dynamic and dedicated physician to join our General Internal Medicine faculty. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an academic institution where you will have the chance to shape the future of healthcare by educating the next generation of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical students.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Mentorship: Lead and mentor internal medicine residents, NPs, PAs, and medical students through clinical instruction and didactic teaching. You will also provide lectures and conduct teaching sessions for fellows, residents, and students, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
Medical Practice Development: Build and maintain a thriving general internal medicine practice. This role involves supervising residents in inpatient and outpatient settings, including several local hospitals and rehabilitation units.
Patient Care: Oversee the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting x-rays, and laboratory tests, and planning and executing appropriate treatment plans.
Occasional Duties: Provide coverage for internal medicine faculty within the department as needed, ensuring continuity of care and support across the department.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program.
- Must hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas.
- Must hold or be eligible for ABIM board certification in Internal Medicine.
