We are looking for a passionate Protection Application Specialist to lead strategy for our Protection Relays, to be a definite part of our Switchgear proposals and grow Siemens protection upgrade solutions. Ensuring acceptability of the same with external stakeholders like End-Users, Consultants, Contractors and OEMs etc. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams mainly Business Development and Proposal Management to develop, launch, and maintain innovative solutions that meet customer needs and drive market growth.

What will you do?
  • Develop and execute product strategy aligned with Business Unit goals.
  • Partner with Innovations, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to promote Protection relays, automation products & grow market share.
  • Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for our products.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and partners to drive product adoption.
  • Influence end users, consultant to have Siemens Protection relays added to specifications and project scope of work.
  • Participate in and develop white papers to raise awareness of Siemens Protection & Automation Solutions.
  • Aware of protection philosophy, concepts, standards and devices to be able to create value proposition for customer Protection System upgrades and retrofits.
  • Be able to select right Protection and Automation devices complying customer requirements.
  • Provide market feedback to Product Lifecycle Management for gaps and required improvement in Siemens Protection & Automation Products.

What will you need to succeed?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in protection relays, meters, and communication protocols.
  • Good understanding of Substation Environment including LV, MV and HV Switchgear, Transformers, etc.
  • Ability to interact with customers and colleagues as a subject matter expert.
  • Able to analyze detailed Electrical Schematic Drawings, Network Topologies and Architecture Drawings.
  • Good understanding of communication protocols - IEC61850, Modbus, DNP3, IEC101/3/4, OPC.
  • Knowledge of Protection Systems (MU; process bus technology) and Secondary Distribution Automation Solutions (FSI/FPI) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Other Protection Systems - Siemens Relays, GE Relays, SEL Relays, ABB relays etc.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Bilingual in French is an asset.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.
