UPMC Altoona Regional Health Services (ARHS) is recruiting an additional BC/BE, fellowship trained, vascular surgeon to provide full-scope vascular surgery including open and endovascular procedures, carotid endarterectomy, AV fistula graphs, and extremity bypass surgery . The Vascular Surgery Practice is located on the UPMC Altoona hospital campus with easy access to the 12-operating room suite, interventional/endovascular procedure room, and 6-operating room ambulatory surgery center. Our vascular surgeons are part of Altoona's Heart and Vascular Institute which currently includes 1 vascular surgeon, 1 cardio-thoracic surgeon, and 5 cardiologists. This employed position offers a generous base salary plus work RVU bonus with an attractive UPMC physician benefit package. About UPMC Altoona UPMC Altoona is comprised of a tertiary care hospital, an employed physician practice, and a non-profit foundation. We are part of the world-renowned UPMC network of 40 hospitals, 90,000+ employees, 700 physician offices, and a 4+ million-member insurance services division (UPMC Health Plan). UPMC ARHS is a multispecialty practice comprised of 100 physicians in many medical and surgical specialties that includes a large primary care physician base. UPMC Altoona hospital is a 400-bed tertiary care hospital that serves a 6-county primary service area of 350,000+ central Pennsylvania residents. The hospital is a level 3 trauma center and a thrombectomy capable interventional stroke center that serves an 18-county region from New York to Maryland. UPMC Altoona is a center for vascular surgery, cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology (including TAVR and Watchman procedures) and is a regional cancer center. The UPMC Altoona Medical Staff is comprised of 320+ practicing physicians on the active medical staff in primary care, and medical and surgical specialties. About the Community Altoona is a small city of about 45,000 residents surrounded by mountains in central Pennsylvania, with major northeast metropolitan areas within a 2 to 5-hour drive .
