Mechanical Assembler Job Description The mechanical assembler will be working in the caves, performing mechanical upfitting on Ford Transit vans. They will work on the Spectrum cable van, installing and pre-assembling shelving units. Candidates must have good knowledge of hand and power tools, and the ability to read blueprints. Responsibilities Perform mechanical upfitting on Ford Transit vans. Install and pre-assemble shelving units for Spectrum cable vans. Utilize hand and power tools effectively. Read and interpret blueprints. Complete up to 20-30 vans per day. Essential Skills Mechanical assembly experience (minimum 1 year). Proficiency with hand and power tools (impact drills, screwdrivers, tape measures). Ability to read blueprints. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in upfitting or automotive facilities is a plus. Experience as a lube tech is beneficial. Work Environment The work environment is underground in the caves, maintaining a comfortable temperature range of 60-70 degrees. Employees work in teams of 10 or more in a fast-paced setting, requiring good attention to detail. The dress code includes steel toes, jeans/work pants, and a work shirt. Contractors will be provided with eye and ear protection.
