The ideal candidate for the Purchasing Coordinator position will be detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. The Big Task
The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for company purchase order process, material return process, warranty coordination, inventory fill rates, demand vs. supply balance, and price book maintenance..
Key Sub Tasks
- Place purchase orders with suppliers with digital purchase orders
- Manage materials returns process with digital returns
- Ensure purchase order prices match invoices for reconciliation
- Optimize parts request process
- Track and follow up on backorders and items in shipping limbo
- Coordinate the receipt and shipping of all goods to maintain service metrics
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure no stock outs and communicate items at risk
- Forecast inventory needs by reviewing stock levels and SKU performance
- Manage buyback programs for excess inventory and reduce overstock
- Work with vendors to create consignment parts/equipment relationships as needed
- Maintain price book to ensure its updated with current material costs
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Have a technical understanding of the products
- Collaborate with service, install, operations, accounting, and customer service teams
- Be the warranty champion and own the process
- Help as needed with other warehouse tasks
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Ability to operate forklift
- Must have a valid state driver's license and meet insurability requirements
- General accounting concept knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
- Experience with inventory management software
- Ability to learn on the fly with a focus on problem-solving
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with all levels of employee
- Experience in supply chain management and operations/inventory management
