General Assembly Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Mechanical and electrical assembly of customer jobs.
• Work with mechanical and electrical blueprints.
• Document job changes with engineering and purchasing Bill of Materials (BOM's).
• Maintain accurate BOM changes for all jobs.
• Working closely with technicians to develop new automation systems.
• Automation Technician support, and general labor for the construction of custom assembly automation.
• Maintain accurate time logging for jobs.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned to help Prescott Metal/EAM attain its goals.
Minimum Qualifications/Technical Knowledge Required:
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, technical school preferred.
• Electrical wiring and crimping skills, small to large wire gauge and cable assemblies.
• Knowledge and experience operating power tools and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret production job orders and bill of materials.
• Basic troubleshooting ability.
• Basic understanding of mechanical components, bearings, pneumatic systems, etc.
• Basic understanding of electrical sensors, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), motor drives, vision systems, etc.
• Ability to work as part of a team with technicians and engineers.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems, components, and assemblies.
• Basic ability to use and understand precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, squares, scales, etc.
• Ability to travel to aid in service and/or machine installations.
Physical Demands/Work Conditions:
• The assembler stands for 8-10 hours per day with periodic sitting, walking, stooping, and reaching, as well as frequently lifting manually and/or moving material up to 50 pounds.
• Typical manufacturing environment, subject to dust, metal shavings, machinery oil, and electrical hazards.
• Frequently working with machinery that has pinch points and rotating parts.

• Safety glasses when on the shop floor and when working with hand and power tools.
• Gloves when handling sharp material.
