The Robotic Welding Programmer is responsible for the development and implementation of all robotic welding programs, including set up documentation and training, and continuous improvement of weld programs and tooling/fixturing, aimed at reducing rework and cycle time, and improving quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Develop and implement robotic welding programs for new parts and cells, as well as parts transitioning from manual welding. Perform initial tool/program runout, and work with cross functional team to approve and transition parts to production.Work closely with Tooling Design on development of new fixtures and continuous improvement of existing fixtures.Work with Manufacturing Engineering to track robotic cell metrics and input int excel spreadsheet.Conduct welding cell cycle time calculations.Make recommendations to design changes that improve robotic welding operations.Identify jobs that are good candidates for robotic solutions.Review, maintain, and improve existing robotic weld programs/fixtures with a focus of reducing rework, cycle time, and improving quality.Work with Quality Assurance personnel to analyze, document, and implement recommendations for correction of process failures and quality improvement.Recommend design concepts for individual parts and processes to improve cost and manufacturability.Provide input for tooling design and identify applications for robotic welding in manufacturing.Perform set-up and preventive maintenance and troubleshoot robotic welding equipment.Apply and optimize use of robotic systems in welding and other manufacturing processes.Participate in the Company’s lean initiative & team process to develop and improve manufacturing processes and procedures. Continually strive to find better ways to complete tasks and be the best in the industry.Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the manufacturing cell. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion and conform to all quality and safety procedures. Education and/or Experience The individual must have a high school diploma or GED. An Associate’s Degree or Technical Diploma in robotic programming, weld robotic programming, or a related program or a minimum of three years manual/robotic welding operations experience is preferred. Experience in robotic welding set-up, programming, troubleshooting, and operating, including Fanuc, CLOOS, IGM, UR and ABB robotic welding equipment is preferred.
