The Principal Scientific Affairs for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for Being Liaison with the healthcare and/or scientific communities to support the market introduction/penetration of the organization's products by providing clinical information, regulatory background, recommended usage and other related information; external scientific/clinical organizations/individuals to further product application, industry position, and market penetration; Is a recognized external expert in area of specialty; Includes externally oriented medical/dental professionals that assist with focus on the assessment and development of new technologies and the role of the organization in the field/industry.
This position is part of the Beckman Coulter Microbiology Opco located in Sacramento, CA and will be an on-site role. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

The salary range for this role is 250,000 -300,000 This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Define evidence strategy and studies needed to support competitive positioning and product launches; identify partners and manage studies (including budget for studies, milestones, deliverables)
- Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and experts and coordinate collaboration with academic and other outside institutions. Build relationships with professional associations, standardization consortia, and advocacy organizations associated with guidelines and policy
- Provide scientific support to sales and marketing. Contribute to field action decisions and communications and develop and deliver educational content directed at both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide scientific assessment in evaluation of new product proposals, both internal and external and assist in new product development while contributing to pre-launch activities together with marketing and customer support and contributing to Sales & Marketing training for new products
- Anticipate and evaluate scientific, competitive, and guideline/policy drivers. Interface with regulatory and governmental agencies, international groups on standardization for market shaping activities
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree with 20+ years' experience OR Master's with 18+ years' OR Doctoral degree with 15+ years' experience in clinical microbiology diagnostics. Position need PhD degree in Microbiology. MD or PhD with board certification (ABMM) is plus
- Demonstrated prior experience in the field of antibiotic resistance detection and/or phenotypic susceptibility testing.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Experience of leading through influence
- Excellent communication skills, including effective presentation skills - can effectively communicate difficult concepts
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Scientific D experience in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases are desirable
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Will require frequent domestic and occasional international business travel
