Summary of Program and Position:
Economic Opportunity Center provides resources designed to strengthen an individual's ability to identify, secure and sustain employment. Qualified clients who either need assistance with employability or a career plan can access services that include a personal vocational assessment, basic economic literacy, budget planning, resume development, job placement and career development coaching.
The primary function of the Job Placement Specialist is to perform a variety of duties related to supporting clients in the Family and Economic Opportunity Center programs, particularly low-income families, re-entry individuals from corrections departments, and those who are unemployed or underemployed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Behaves in a manner that supports the agency's mission and follows personnel policies and procedures.
- Provides job readiness and business development case management and counseling services for program participants, including technical assistance, appropriate referrals, follow-up, and training, as needed.
- Creates and maintains business or employment plans and barrier reduction plans for each client.
- Is responsible for intake and assessment activities.
- Is responsible for all administrative records and tracking associated with EOC activities on behalf of clients and with accurately recording actions taken. Is responsible for collection of verification documentation and maintenance of case records and for accurate data input of client information in eHana and any other required database systems.
- Participates as directed in actively networking with employer partners and referral partners to ensure the flow of new clients and ongoing opportunities for clients in the job market.
- Is responsible for the timely completion of all assigned program reports, and records.
- Participates in the agency's Performance and Quality Improvement Program.
Education/Training/Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in related field, with one (1) year experience in job placement or business startup plus one (1) year experience in supportive services case management required.
OR
2. High School diploma or equivalent with two (2) years' experience in job placement or business start-up plus two (2) years' experience in supportive services case management required.
Other:
- Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license.
- Has daily access to an automobile.
- Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.
