The Lien Resolution Specialist provides expert lien negotiation and resolution services for personal injury settlements through Synergy Lien Resolution Services (SLRS). SLRS resolves Medicaid, Medicare, ERISA, FEHBA, private insurance, hospital/provider and military plan liens as well as any other healthcare subrogation issues that arise out of personal injury settlements. The Lien Resolution Specialist embodies our corporate ethos and consistently delivers exceptional service to our clients. They are versatile assets to our organization. Primary Duties:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those listed below. These duties and responsibilities may be modified at any time by Management. Modifications will be in writing and will be acknowledged by both parties.

Lien Management and Negotiation

  • Effectively manage and negotiate a diverse inventory of liens.
  • Engage with various lien holders including ERISA/Private, Medicaid, Military, FEHBA, disability plans, hospitals, and providers.
Strategic Case Development
  • Utilize comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the case to formulate compelling arguments and strategies leveraging Synergy and third-party resources.
  • Independently craft persuasive arguments and correspondence tailored to each case after conducting thorough investigations and legal research.
Efficiency and Organization
  • Utilize online tools and Synergy Resource Dashboards.
  • Ensure proper documentation of actions including phone calls, emails, and strategy notes.
  • Confirm inclusion of reduction requests, final offers for reduction, and lien closure letters in files.
  • Audit claim summaries for errors and duplications.
  • Adhere to newly implemented policies and procedures.
Client Communication and Support
  • Communicate with clients via email, phone, and Connexion portal.
  • Provide initial consultations and demonstrate expertise to attorney clients.
  • Offer guidance and support as a Subject Matter Expert to the lien team, sales and other departments.
  • Engage with clients, sales, and Synergy leadership effectively.
Team Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
  • Actively participate in specific lien type sessions and team meetings.
  • Share insights and strategies with team members to enhance overall performance.
Requirements:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional attitude and demeanor with ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal team members
  • Strong organizational skills in managing documentation and adhering to policies and procedures
  • High attention to detail and follow up with a focus on efficiency and accuracy
  • Ability to free think and creatively craft persuasive arguments for negotiations
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Legal Studies, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a similar discipline.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree or Paralegal Certification is highly preferred due to the legal nature of the work.
  • Courses or certifications in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution can be advantageous.
  • At least 5 years demonstrated knowledge and experience in lien resolution.
