The Cathedral of Mary Our Queen is located in the Homeland neighborhood of Baltimore City with additional facilities in Rogers Forge, Govans, Mount Washington, and Hamden. It serves approximately 1,300 registered families and is host to many Archdiocesan liturgies and events throughout the year. The School of the Cathedral forms an integral part of the parish with an enrollment of 350 students. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the maintenance of the Homeland, Rogers Forge, Govans, Mount Washington, and Hamden campuses of the Cathedral Parish as well as Saint Mary’s Cemetery. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the Maintenance Team, the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment as well as determining and scheduling repairs and renovations, coordinating safety inspections, and fulfilling work orders.

Essential Functions

  • Assures the safe operation of the building facility daily.
  • Reviews, leads, and coordinates the activities of building service workers or contractors. Inspects custodial services performed by third party custodial company and communicates special needs.
  • Responds to requests from administration and faculty for custodial services during the day.
  • Assists in the set up and preparation for special activities.
  • Maintains and inventories, janitorial and housekeeping supplies.
  • Develops and implements scheduled cleanings.
  • Performs regular maintenance and upkeep schedule on all equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
Position Qualifications
  • Ability to self-motivate, manage responsibilities, and work independently, including strong multi-tasking and critical thinking skill.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work, communicate effectively, and maintain good relationships with staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs. consistently and up to 50lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Some experience with Facilities Maintenance, (especially plumbing, HVAC, and electrical), grounds, and general maintenance preferred.
