Electronics Assembly Technician

Description

The Electronics Assembly Technician will be responsible for the assembly of a large variety of digital and analog prototype printed circuit boards with SMT and through-hole components and for the assembly and repair of automated, semi-automated, or manual assembly equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assemble individual circuit boards (PCB and protoboard), solder SMT and THT components onto circuit boards, and fabricate wiring harnesses.
  • Follow detailed wiring diagrams or schematics to build electronic text fixtures.
  • Work closely with the test engineers/technicians to rework production test equipment and implement test hardware updates, as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including stock of various electrical components and related parts.
  • Perform visual and electrical inspection on completed assemblies.
  • Provide feedback to engineers on hardware documentation and suggest assembly improvements.
  • Work with the Order Fulfillment team to fabricate prototype magnetics and cable assemblies.
Education and Experience:
  • 2+ years relevant experience in electronics assembly.
  • Surface mount SMT and THT soldering and rework experience required with a knowledge of quality standards (IPC-A-610).
  • Preferred experience with electrical and mechanical schematics, drawings, sketches and/or verbal instructions.
  • Preferred Associate Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent experience
Required Skills:
  • Electro-mechanical assembly skills utilizing various tools and equipment, with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, parts lists, cable diagrams, and electrical component package information.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting utilizing a DMM and circuit component knowledge is a plus.
  • Good documentation practices and computer skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, self-confident, team player with a desire to learn.
  • Must be able to carry/lift up to 50 lbs.
