Location: Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, VA
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Memorial Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established inpatient orthopedic surgery program. As we expand our services in the Mechanicsville area, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care and contribute to the success of our orthopedic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide direct assessment, management, and coordination of care for patients in both routine and emergent situations.
  • Daily Rounds: Collaborate with physicians to review patient progress, addressing any concerns according to clinical pathways and best practices.
  • Care Coordination: Act as a liaison among consulting physicians, nurses, and ancillary services, independently ordering necessary services.
  • Discharge Planning: Work with Care Managers to ensure smooth transitions of care, including writing prescriptions, conducting medication reconciliations, and arranging home health services as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and medical management.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Engage with an interdisciplinary team to enhance the quality of care through evaluation, planning, and delivery of comprehensive services.
  • Patient Advocacy: Uphold the dignity and respect of all patients, families, and staff, reinforcing our commitment to providing quality healthcare in a supportive environment.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or equivalent qualification for Physician Assistant.
  • Current NP or PA license in Virginia.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
