Production Assembler (Level II)

Gems Setra is looking to add a new Production Assembler who possesses a positive demeanor, and is detail orientated, to join the team as an Assembler II. This position reports to a Supervisor or Area Lead. This role requires bench assembly of electrical or mechanical parts requiring some precision. Work may be repetitive.
Essential Functions :
-
Assemble product of assigned cells with minimal direction.

Following assembly instructions to produce quality products that meet customers’ quality and delivery specifications.

Trained & certified in three or more product cells throughout the factory.

Leads and schedules orders for cells with (1-2 players) meeting OTD and productivity requirements.

Ensures quality goals are met for assigned cells.

Runs the daily SQDIP board and Identifies part shortages and any other issues.

Maintains 5S and SW for assigned cells.

Trains associates in cells
Critical Success Factors:
-
Ability to follow verbal and written procedures and interpret bill of material prints

Proven ability to use a variety of mechanical hand tools.

Set up machines and equipment (minimum 4) such as tig, fusion, ultrasonic & resistance welders, calibration stands, environmental test stands, & leak detectors.

Outstanding teamwork and collaboration skills.
Education & Experience Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Demonstrates basic math skills; such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Most work cells require standing 95% or more of the shift.
-
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs on occasion if required. (Most work cells)
Desired Skills:
-
1-3 years’ experience in a assembly experience.

Prior experience with soldering or IPC training.

Performs product calibration.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures and workspace restrictions.

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.

The associate must also be willing and able to travel by all forms of transportation.
