Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years of K-9 experience, working a patrol dog.

• Benefits - The employee will earn $80.00/hour after completing the initial training requirement. (During the week-long academy, compensation will be at minimum wage.)•

Duties/Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent to prevent theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
• Conduct regular patrols.
• Monitor activities.
• Surveillance.
• Access control.
• Safety escorts.
• Using provided communication devices.
• Represent SSNW's brand.
• Properly wear the issued uniform.
• Complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR).
• Complete Incident Reports.
• Work with local law enforcement, and emergency services.
• Provide friendly assistance to customers, employees, and visitors following the department's procedures.
• Other duties as described in the Post Orders

Required Skills/ Abilities:

• Access to a smartphone with access to the apps we use for scheduling, clocking in/out, and reporting.
• Honesty and integrity.
• Able to work non-traditional hours including swings, graveyard, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to obtain a Washington State Unarmed Security Guard License.
• Ability to react appropriately in high-stress situation

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Law Enforcement and or Military Police experience preferred.
• K-9 Course completion certificate will be required.
• Required to work shift work.
• Have a home with a fenced yard.
• Prior public safety and/or military experience preferred.
• Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card (or obtain one).
• Knowledge of security protocols and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to conduct regular walking foot patrol.
• Able to stand 8-12 hours a day.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
